file uploads & e-mail verification

you can now attach any kind of file to your posts!
please don’t do anything naughty with it. be aware of our very professional TOS.
also, you can verify your email through the account settings page. this isn’t necessary to post, but it will increase your upload limit. in the future, if the site gets spammed/abused i might have to force everyone to verify.

how to use

• to attach a file, drag and drop or use the upload form
  
• uploading files uses the “reply” permission, downloading files uses the “read” permission. this means that private links can’t be leaked.
  
• the first post that references a file becomes that file’s parent post. delete the post or edit out the <tz-file> tag to delete the file
  
• some types of files have a preview included. currently only mp3s, but i’m working on adding more
  
• quoted files are transformed into a link to the parent post
  
• you can see your current quota and usage at https://thread.zone/account/edit
  
  

upload limits

verifying your e-mail address and/or becoming a patron increases your upload limits
this isn’t set in stone, let me know if you need more etc

• uploading files in PMs doesn’t work yet works now
  
• page to view all the files you’ve uploaded done
  
• more previews for different file types
  
• somehow let you upload videos without turning them into ‘video gifs’

you can send files in PMs now

i’m moving upload files to a different domain for Security Reasons™, not that there was anything wrong but better safe than sorry
so don’t worry if your browser asks if you want to download from lore.delivery
i’ll probably move images and stuff there too eventually

I’d also suggest making sure you have file types whitelisted, and that file names get assigned by the server, like with the existing image upload

tho i think you might already be doing these

lore.delivery is a pretty good name for a domain
