Posts per page option/max post count?

so I’ve noticed that it seems there’s no limit (at least one I’ve seen yet) to the amount of posts on a single page. My hangup with this is overall navigability as a thread gets larger. It is possible to quickly get to the latest post of a thread fine, however, I can see it as an issue the longer a thread goes on, especially for mobile browsing. So question/feature request would be, is there any kind of a post limit (like ETI’s 5000 cap?) per thread, and would there be a way to implement some kind of page option for individual topics if one does not exist already?

there is no post limit right now
i want to add pages but i haven’t figured out the best way to do it yet. its more of a UI issue than a technical one

its a little over eager and fetches the rest of the thread but i will fix soon

it seems manually creating pages in this way still counts deleted posts, not sure what can be done about that

it goes by post ID which starts at 1, deleted posts still take up an ID
I’ll post more about it after I fix the filtering thing bc that bug is also fucking this up

ok i fixed it a little. livelinks might mess it up still. more fixes soon

basically it works liek
1 is the first post and only the first post
1- is from the first post to the end
1-50 would be the ‘first page’
51-100 would be the second

it’ll do this automatically sooner or later

livelinks will always load in at the bottom even if you view one specific post

i dont necessarily think thats a bad thing

make threads lock at 500 also tho

OK i added pagination to threads. let me know if you find any weirdness in it

so far so good. first thing i tested was to see if livelinks did anything weird while looking at an older page, seemed to work okay

oh hm. sometimes a phantom page happens when a page maxes out posts?

i could see that happening if, for example, someone deletes the first and only post of a new page
i need to handle deleted msgs better with pages but it makes the math a lot annoying heh

without having been there for the phenomenon once i assumed it was because your keep reading button shows up after the last post on a pg but not necessarily before first new post
