i think ETI’s image servers were set up to actively transcode images to a smaller file to generate thumbnails
as you’ve demonstrated here, the same image is just being dynamically resized, while it appears smaller it still has the same filesize / memory footprint, you can even right click -> open image in new tab on the ‘thumbnail’ and be given the full size img
